WiWo and Handelsblatt Circulation Increases!
Fourth quarter results for 2007 have come in for Wirtschaftswoche and Handelsblatt, revealing strong gains for both titles.
Wirtschaftswoche built on its strong market position as sold circulation increased by 2,000 copies (representing a 1.1% increase) to an average of 188,177 copies sold. WiWo has been going from strength to strength over the last year, with the number of copies sold representing a 5.9% rise from the same quarter of 2006.
The results of the Medientenor rankings show Handelsblatt as the most frequently cited subscription newspaper in 2007, beating FAZ and FTD. This not only underlines its position as coverage leader amongst national daily newspapers (LAE 2007) but also illustrates its market leadership in terms of relevance. Sold circulation has increased by 1,935 copies (+ 1.36%) in the fourth quarter of 2007, underpinning Handelsblatt’s status as the leading newspaper for German decision-makers.

The results of the LAE 2007 readership survey of decision-makers in business and administration have now been released! Along with providing new data on decision makers, the growing importance of the online market has also been reflected in this year’s survey. Handelsblatt has consolidated its position as the undisputed leader amongst national daily newspapers, and maintains its position ahead of the FAZ by the same margin as in the LAE 2005. WirtschaftsWoche is another winner in this year’s survey, recording a marked increase in its coverage and replacing rival Capital as the forerunner in its category. Despite the last two years seeing vast changes, the LAE has again targeted only those groups of maximum relevance to advertisers within business-to-business markets and media, confirming the status of our publications as number one.
